Theo Walcott angers Fabio Capello with book revelations

Theo Walcott is facing the wrath of Fabio Capello after making a series of revelations about the England set-up in his new book.

The Italian manager is said to be unimpressed with the 22-year-old Arsenal midfielder, who was a surprise omission from the 23-man squad that travelled to South Africa for the World Cup last year.

In the book 'Theo, Growing Up Fast' - which is being serialised in The Sun - Walcott describes incidents during England's final training camp in Austria.

"There was something very stiff and starchy about Mr Capello's regime before the 2010 World Cup," writes Walcott.

"It was the second day and I made a run inside from my position out wide on the right.

"Suddenly Mr Capello started screaming at me at the top of his voice. Training stopped and everyone stared at their feet and looked embarrassed. 'Theo,' he was yelling. 'I will kill you if you come inside like that again!' I never quite knew what was required of me. I was confused."

Capello was alerted to the book by FA officials on Sunday and is said to see Walcott's actions as a breach of trust as well as a challenge to his authority.

It is understood that Capello will not axe Walcott from the squad, saying the team, and not individuals, are the priority.

But Capello will make his feelings known to Walcott should he be part of the squad that meets up for the Euro 2012 double-header against Bulgaria and Wales in September.
